TODAY is a very important day at Queen’s Park. The bill to end cap and trade –without any
replacement plan for climate action – is in 2nd reading and the bill to cut Toronto City Council in half – in the middle of an election already underway – is also in 2nd reading in the House.

TODAY the conservative caucus is meeting (this afternoon).

URGENT ACTION – when you get this please do two things:

First: Sign petition by LeadNow to go to Conservative MPPs in Toronto TODAY.

Never in Canadian history has a politician tried to highjack democracy by changing rules in the middle of an election. If the Conservatives get away with this, there will be no restraints on other attacks on workers’ rights, pensions, labour law, public services, education….and most importantly for climate-focused organizations like ours, on climate action.

Hello TransformTO supporters!

We have much to celebrate as the staff request of $2.5 million was approved for the City’s 2018 budget. You helped make that happen! However, that’s just the start of making the transition we need to achieve 80% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2050.

You will likely be as shocked as we are to know that the City’s Climate Action Plan, TransformTO, was not included in the City’s 2018 draft budget.
