Participate in ‘Earth Too’ Organized by Citizens Climate Lobby – take a short video saying why you want to stay on Earth (and not join ‘Mars One’) and build a sustainable future.

STEP-UP CANADA! HONOUR THE EARTH
People are drawn to ClimateFast because we symbolize the spirit of all peoples coming together to discuss and reflect on the true means of right relations with the earth in our modern world context. We symbolize the sacred nature of our relationship with the earth. We symbolize First Nations, aboriginal people of all descriptions, settler people from all over the globe, coming together to declare their celebration of the miraculous nature of the universe. We declare our solidarity with the forces that support and uphold life. We honour our debt to the many living things on the earth, in the air, and in the water who share with us their gifts. We look with total humility to appreciate the sensitive, complex web of life, the interdependence of all beings in the web – of which we are but a part.
I believe we are now in a time when the rules that we have always followed that set our boundaries and kept us safe don’t seem to be doing the job. We have allowed our corporations to grow into giant mega-corporations that owe no responsibility at all to either the land and water that sustains it or the community that provides its labour. They just take. And when they have amassed enough wealth, they sock some away on some island where they don’t have to pay taxes, and give the rest away through foundations to the projects that particularly interest them. There is no participation by the communities who were raped by these corporations in determining their own priorities. They are forced to take on the industrial agriculture that feeds the petrochemical industry. It’s the story of David and Goliath, where David represents the people.
One of the advantages of being Goliath is that you can spend enormous amounts of money ensuring that you will retain control of this lucrative enterprise. Advertising on TV. Lobbying Government. Sponsoring sports teams. Buying out potential complainers. We see the evidence of it all around us and we know this is not what democracy is all about. This is our system gone awry.
The people, together, must reclaim their democracy. Today we are proud to announce that ClimateFast is joining together with Step Up Canada, KAIROS, the People’s Climate Movement, and 350.org Toronto to promote positive solutions to the Climate Crisis. Each organization is bringing its strengths to the table so that together we can be a more effective voice. We want people to know that if they become engaged, they will be able to contribute their ideas and energies toward the solutions that attract them. Together we will build a new, respectful and sustainable kind of relationship with the earth.

Dear Elected Leaders,
I am celebrating that all but three of the Provincial First Ministers showed up to make plans for climate action. I am delighted that Ontario will work with Quebec toward a renewable energy future. I am thankful that we are beginning to have the discussion we need about the most serious security risk of our time: climate change. I hope you will make sure your policies support the development of healthy sustainable economies today and a healthy planet for our grandchildren tomorrow.
