Professor Kevin Anderson will give an intimate talk on the implications of the Paris agreement and what it means in practical terms for the EU and its member states.

His talk will focus on the implications of the Paris agreement and what it means in practical terms for the EU and its member states. It is expected he will provide an overview of the outcomes of the COP21 Paris Agreement its implication for decarbonisation and the concept of balancing emissions and removals post 2050.

 

Kevin Anderson is professor of energy and climate change in the School of Mechanical, Aeronautical and Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester. He was previously director of the Tyndall Centre, the UK’s leading academic climate change research organisation, during which time he held a joint post with the University of East Anglia. Kevin now leads Tyndall Manchester’s energy and climate change research programme and is deputy director of the Tyndall Centre.
